IN FOCUS: SAKURAI'S CAT

Okay. Read the title: the subject is right there. Sakurai's Cat. Yes, I know I said that I'm alternating between character and miscellaneous and DaFizzyMan had asked for Fox, but since there hasn't been a post since April 17th or something I'm trying to stick this short one in.

WHAT IS SAKURAI'S CAT?

Please tell me you're kidding. A cat is a cat. It's Masahiro Sakurai's cat, to be precise. To be more precise... okay, I can't be more precise. A cat is a cat. And if you don't know about Masahiro Sakurai's cat, well, I don't blame you because when I first found out I thought it was a joke. So. A cat is a cat, like I've said five billion times already.

WHAT DOES SAKURAI'S CAT HAVE TO DO WITH BRAWL?

Well, first of all, the cat (I don't know his name, so call him Mew for now. Don't ask.) has something to do with Sakurai, so that's sort of Brawl-related. But no, Sakurai's cat actually makes an appearance in Brawl - twice. The first time (Pokemon Stadium 2) is definitely confirmed but the second time (WarioWare) is just a random thing thought up by fans. No, you don't fight as Mew (remember, not the Pokemon, the cat) and all you see is a picture. Lame, right? But don't forget, in Melee, getting a rare Pokemon only gives you a bunch of points.

WHERE IS MEW?

Mew can be found on the Pokemon Stadium 2 and as a stick-figure doodle in WarioWare, but there's been no confirmation. For Pokemon Stadium 2, just wait until the stage comes to the Ice Element, and peek through the windows in the ice house. There's an image below to help you out - but you can see Sakurai's cat in the window.

For WarioWare, in the in-game activity, one is when you have to dodge the rain. There's a little kitty in the rain all alone, and people say that's Sakurai's cat. Don't ask why, because I don't even know what it's doing there. Well, in Melee the goal for the mini-game was to keep the kitty out of the rain, but in Brawl I guess they forgot to take it out or something. This is the less common easter egg known in Brawl.
